Jail break in quake-hit Chile

SANTIAGO, Chile—More than 200 inmates in Chile fled their prison on Saturday after the powerful earthquake caused a wall to crumble, jail authorities said.

The falling wall seriously injured one of the guards at the prison in the central town of Chillan and 269 prisoners poured out, said prison police chief Alejandro Jimenez, as quoted by the La Tercera newspaper's website.
