More Charges Expected For Captured Inmate
SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- The search for an inmate who walked away from Livesay Correctional Institution in Spartanburg on Monday has ended.
The S.C. Department of Corrections said 26-year-old Franklin Harris was confirmed missing from the institution at about 1:30 p.m.
Harris was apprehended at his mother's home in Union County at about 7:30 p.m. Investigators with corrections, in coordination with the S.C. Law Enforcement Division and local law enforcement, made the arrest.
He started serving an eight-year sentence for assault with intent to kill in March of 2009. He was convicted in Union County.
Harris will be charged with felony escape, a crime that carries one to 15 years in prison, and taken to Broad River Correctional Institution, a maximum-security prison.
